I despised conventional sales and felt there had to be another way to claim power over my value. From that longing emerged my Green Square Method (2008), a process for translating my passions - the reason I make art - into customer value, with a price tag that buyers could understand. Empowering my own terms for my art, while making a living in a market-driven world. It worked! Soon enough, I was asked to teach the method. To my surprise, it helped all kinds of creative entrepreneurs and I began to see themes emerging. Unable to embrace the market-driven mindset with heart, they lacked a term - or system - that seemed to fit. And the word entrepreneur? No, thanks. The more I researched, the more I understood we were operating within a value system other than the predominating one. With its own complex, fully functioning, and immense logic, well worthy of a name and explanation.  I continued making art, while this economic thinking pulled me deeper into its folds. I wasn't imagining this other economy. It was highly functioning around the globe, offering an alternative to endless growth. When the term Genuine Growth dawned on me, I became...  obsessed. I had to understand this invisible system and explain it. To help the many struggling to make a living from their work without compromising what they know in their hearts is true to them. It felt like I was staring a Big Puzzle Piece of Human Sustainable Society in the eye.? A piece unnamed and unquantified.? Until I gave it a name and drew the map.?
